[09.03.2010]
Professional Technology Executive Takes the Reigns of Promising Cloud Startup Reston, VA. — March 9, 2010 —3Sixty Enterprises, LLC, a leading innovator of consumer cloud technologies, today announced that it has appointed long-time Internet executive Kurt Baumann as Chief Executive Officer, effective March 8. Baumann succeeds current CEO Donna Hemmert, who will stay on the 3Sixty executive team, parlaying her vast marketing and business development experience in various technology sectors in the role of CMO. Baumann and Hemmert will work closely, both for a seamless hand-over of responsibilities, and moving forward as new products and services are brought to market. Baumann has a long history in the high-tech space, and his career has closely tracked the evolution of the Internet. He was involved in the PLATO system at the Urbana campus of the University of Illinois, was responsible for founding the first ISP in Japan, and also founded InterCon Systems—the leading producer of Internet software on the Macintosh, which sold to PSINet in 1995. He then worked at PSINet, building their consumer division which was then sold to Mindspring. Mr. Baumann then founded a venture capital firm, investing in several startups including WebCal—one of the first calendar apps on the web—which sold to Yahoo. Next Mr. Baumann was asked by the PSINet board to spin off inter.net—an ISP operating in over 20 countries—and then proceeded to purchase the company with his partner. Recently he served as Chairman of the Board for Uniserve (TSX: USS), a Canadian public company. “Kurt’s track record of success – especially in North America, but also across Asia and around the world – is remarkable,” said Hemmert. “Kurt is a proven leader as well as a world-class technologist. He brings a great vision for leading our company into the future, and an excitement that is contagious.” “3Sixty has done some amazing things over the past year and a half,” said Baumann, "and I am happy to keep the momentum high. The team I will be working with is exceptionally talented, and we will be focused on applying resources to execute against an ambitious plan.” About 3Sixty Enterprises |
